“Alex, what on earth of you doing?” Hannah finally got my attention. I looked up at her, but didn’t answer. I just went back to scribbling.
Zane, if you’re reading this, I’ve gone to face your cousin and end this fight once and for all. Don’t come after me. I’m doing this for you. I just wanted to tell you that you were the first person I’ve gotten close to in a long time—
“Please tell me you’re not about to do something stupid,” Hannah mumbled. “Alex, why can’t you just stay out of trouble for once in your life? You’re going to get yourself killed. What about Zane?”
“Hannah, I have to do this,” I finally said.
I just wanted to say, that if I never see you again, I’m glad I got to know you. I’m sorry I was so hard to live with, even if it was just for a few months. And I realize now that I—
Hannah slammed her hand down on the desk. “You’re not going back out there. You’re gonna get yourself killed.”
So, who are the characters of Cahier? Well, let's meet them!
((Pictures made with Lunaii dollmaker and will serve as their purpose here until I can get some real pics.))

Zane is pretty much the other main character of the story. He comes from a completely twisted background, and has major problems with his family. If it weren't for Alex, he'd most likely be off somewhere killing people, locked up in prison, or dead. None of which are exactly good.

Ayla Marie is the daughter of Alex and Zane. She is blind, like her father, and a walking child prodigy. Everyone who sees her falls in love with her adorable looks and charm. She loves music, Kevin, poker, and anything shiny. She hates very few things, and is very well behaved for a two year old.

Carter James Holt
Carter is the son of Alex and Zane. He is born much, much later in the story. He enjoys the company of his sister more than anything, and he is definitely his father's son. Zane is just happy that he isn't the only boy in the house anymore, and he loves his son very much.
Trey Holt
Trey is Zane's cousin. Some would say he's evil, but no, he's just responsible. After Zane escapes from prison Trey is sent to collect him... dead or alive... So even though Zane is his cousin, Trey does what he was asked. He's needs to be more rebellious...

Lexxi is the middle child of the Trescott siblings. She gets along with both of her siblings, but isn't friends with either. She's closer to Alex than Xavion, but, since Zane came into the picture, they have grown apart. Whenever Zane is around, Alex doesn't do her work, which gets Lexxi in trouble. Therefore, she gets angry with her sister a lot. Lexxi is your average brilliant stratigist. She's an assasin like her siblings, but, unfortunately, ends up sacrificing everything for the benefit of her sister's happiness towards the end of the fifth book.

Xavion Trescott
Xavion hates everyone. He is an assassin, and will kill anyone, no matter who they are. He hates Alex, and tolerates Lexxi. He loves getting under Zane's skin, because he hates him. He is very protective of his niece, even when he orders her kidnapping. No one really knows his history with the Mafia, but he works for them, and that's all you need to know.

Kamren... wow... Well you could say that she's a friend of Zane's, but that might just be a little bit of an understatement. Zane moved in with her and her family when he was only 14 and he lived with them for five years. So let's just say that he and Kamren got very.... close during that time. Alex and Kamren have a very hate-tolerate-hate relationship. Basically, they have a strong dislike for each other throughout the entire story. But towards the very end, they become very good friends.

Kevin Morgan
Kevin owns a coffee shop. Kevin is the son of a billionaire. Kevin lives in his own little world. Kevin is love. Nothing more needs to be said.

Hannah Sellers
Hannah comes in around the middle of the story and continuously pops up just randomly. Really she's just there to be sarcastic and pessimistic and help Zane and Alex out when they force her to.
Ha Ha... Jacob. He's pretty much like another Kevin, just with worse social skills. He works with Kamren and Ian for Zane's uncle... or really he's supposed to work for Zane's uncle, but mostly he just sits around eating junk food and annoying Kamren.

Sam Holt
Sammantha is Zane's seven year old niece. She's going through the same twisted life that Zane was put through. She's pretty much a child prodigy, or so it would seem, but when a group a scientist find that there are a lot of 'prodigies' in Zane's family they decide to run some test. Sam is simply the unlucky lab rat.
Ian works with Kamren and Jacob, but unlike Jacob he actually does work. He helps track down Zane after he escapes from prison and helps to keep him from going back.

Leah is that girl that is so annoying you just want to shoot yourself whenever she's around, but you don't really want to tell her to get lost because you're afraid she'll drown in her own tears or something. She has no purpose, other than to kill tension whenever she pops up. She has the ability to come out of nowhere and disappear without warning. Bubbly and blonde, that's Leah.

Joul is Zane's uncle. He's pretty much Zane's only family member that actually likes him, the rest are out to kill him or simply don't care. He's determined to find Zane before he's caught and killed and harness his incredible mind for something more productive than killing.
Russell is Jasper's younger brother, and one of Alex's best friends. He's a technological genius with a degree in mathematics and science. He loves to use his brain, and he loves to work with his hands. He creates weapons for the military, which initially drew Alex to him in the first place. No one really knows how long they've been friends, but it's obvious that he introduced her to Jasper. Speaking of which, the two are polar opposites. Jasper is lazy and loud and can be very obnoxious, while Russell is hardworking, quiet, and very polite. It's easy to take advantage of him, but most people don't have the heart to. Russell loves Ayla like his own, and is very proud to be her godfather.

Here are some frequently asked questions about Cahier!!
1. What does 'Cahier' mean and why did you choose that as the title?
Cahier is French for Notebook. The reason we chose that as the name is because, as I said before, Cahier started out as a roleplay. Karlee and I always come up with a name for our roleplays that has something to do with the plot, instead of just calling it, "That one with the two people running from crazy mafia people". Because the roleplay spent most of it's existence in a series of metallic notebooks, with the word "Notebook" on the front of each one, we decided to call it that. After deciding to make 'The Notebook" a book, we decided it was time to come up with an actual title for it. But I couldn't think of one better than 'The Notebook'. But that title was already taken, but a book and movie that I absolutely despise, so I started doing some research. I wanted to find an Italian name cause it would go good with the plot, but I couldn't. So since some of the story is spent in France (oops, spoiler), I decided to call it Cahier, which is French for 'notebook'. Cahier stuck.
2. Why assassins?
Why not? Assassins are cool, and it makes the story interesting. If you know anything about assassins, you'd know that two of them falling in love and trying to make a life for themselves is very, very, VERY dangerous. Assassins are a common interest of Karlee and I. They crack us up sometimes. Plus, Karlee reads too many assassin books to not make a story about them.
3. Did you come up with all the characters yourself, or do some of them belong to other people?
All the characters in Cahier are 100% ours. Don't let anyone tell you otherwise. We created all of them uniquely. They are our pride and joy.
4. Why do you hate Kamren?
Ha. I don't hate Kamren. I just think she can be a spoiled, manipulative brat sometimes. And I don't feel that way anymore. Now that she's with Kevin, I actually like her, sorta. They balance each other out. Plus, she's not really that bad. She just annoys the crap out of me sometimes.
5. You said Jasper and Russell are brothers. They look nothing alike.
So? They're brothers, I promise. They sure do fight like brothers, and Jasper always is looking out for his little brother. Jasper is your typical rebel. Russell is your typical nerd. No, they don't really look alike, but once you get to know them, you wouldn't think any differently. They certainly do act like brothers.
6. What's up with Zane's family? They're all either crazy or dead. And why is he running from them?
Read the story! You'll find out!!
7. Leah doesn't have many parts in the story. What's with her?
Leah is a filler. Sorry. She just is. I like Leah, sorta. Not really. Kinda. No, I really don't care for her that much, but she was originally put in there as a filler to lead from one point to another smoothly, but she ended up being everyone's scapegoat. Her loss. I found it hilariously entertaining to torture her. I think Karlee is the only one of that actually cared about her enough to feel sorry for her.
8. Is it true that Karlee came up with most of the plot?
NO! WHO TOLD YOU THAT!? Okay, actually, yeah. Karlee is a plot-making machine. She's brilliant when it comes to coming up with plot. Technically, the first four books of Cahier are Zane's story. The last one is about Alex. But that's how we intended it to be. We wanted to tell Zane's story because we felt it needed to be told. Plus, it's so freakin complicated that it takes four books to explain. Alex's story is sorta told throughout the story, but you really have to pay attention and put it all together to understand. You don't actually get to see the entire story put in front of you until book 5. Karlee spent a lot of time coming up with Zane's plot. It seemed a shame to tell her she couldn't use it. So, I let her have the first four books. Yes, she came up with most of the plot. I aided somewhat.
9. You have soundtracks?
Yeah, we get bored sometimes, and because our taste in music is SOO broad, it was only a matter of time before we found one, or two, or fifty songs that reminded us of our beloved Cahier. We eventually decided to put those songs together into CDs, and, BOOM! Soundtracks.
10. Do you want to publish Cahier?
My DREAM. I would love it, and I'm sure Karlee would too. If you could help us with that, FEEL FREE. You'd be generously rewarded.
11. Where can I read Cahier? It's not on your dA or on the website.
Cahier isn't available for the public to read just yet. Only the select few have read it, and even then, they've only read what's been written out in story form. You'll be the first to know when it comes out as a book. =)
